Omniform is a MES software, or Manufacturing Execution System, a specialized software platform that monitors, tracks, documents, and controls manufacturing operations in real time, bridging the gap between enterprise resource planning (ERP) and shop-floor control systems. Omniform is a conceputal design for a MES solution.

Overview

To showcase my skills as both a UI/UX designer as well as a front-end developer, I created omniform, a conceptual MES solution dashboard. I wanted to cover the full process, from working on the design system, desigining the screens in Figma to implementing the final screen design using react. The project is live and can be tested here. Note, that omniform has been designed as a desktop-only MES, so viewing this project on mobile will not work as expected. The only usage of AI in this project was to generate the mock data JSON files. All design and coding work was done by hand.

My role

I designed the dashboard structure and visual system in Figma and translated the concept into a functional React application. The project explores how complex manufacturing data can be presented through reusable components, consistent status patterns, tables, charts, and responsive layouts. A key focus of the project was keeping the design grounded in realistic implementation. Components such as status chips, data tables, tabs, cards, and charts were designed as reusable building blocks rather than isolated screens. The frontend prototype was built with React, allowing the interface architecture and interaction patterns to be tested beyond static Figma screens.

Outcome

The result is a dashboard concept that combines dense operational information with a deliberately restrained interface. It demonstrates how I approach complex interfaces from both sides: structuring the experience as a designer while considering the technical realities of implementation as a frontend developer.
